Serve and be Blessed!

Saturday Jenny and I helped out at our church for a work day. Which included landscaping and cleanup on the church grounds! It was just about 8 hours!
We left at 5:30PM and a few of us decided to go watch the movie Fireproof afterwards...it was playing at 7:15PM. We went home and cleaned up...very sorely we went to the movie theater...Arriving at 6:58PM we were stopped by a man...a very kind man! This man asked us what movie we were going see...we told him...Fireproof...he said, well my church and I purchased a bunch of tickets for this movie and would like to cover you...and he gave us an envelope with two tickets to the 7:15pm Fireproof it also had a paper inside that describes their church and their new series on Fireproof lives!
Well we were waiting for the rest of our crew to arrive...and once everyone arrived they got free tickets also! It was such a great blessing!
The movie was awesome! It was one of the best cleanest movies I have seen in a very long time! I recommend this movie to everyone.
Anyway...it felt really good having worked all day and getting 2 free movie tickets of a movie we were already going to watch!
Today was Jenny's first day teaching in children's church at our church...she helped teach for the 3-5 year olds...while I was greeting. We have been meeting a lot of people in church and are really making some great friends.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Cami's Birthday

We went to Cameron's birthday party today! It was really a blast. He had more presents for this one birthday party than my entire childhood birthday parties...he definitely racked up!! He turns 7 years old on September 24th!

Here are some of the pictures I took at the party:
Here is a picture of Cam and some of his friends about to open presents and blow out the candles:

Here is Cameron and his best friend Thad, they were pondering some deep questions (what will I be when I grow up...what is my purpose...who let the dogs out):

Evacuation/Family Visit

It started with a planned visit to Plano to visit their loved ones! Then Gustav yelled some wind at them and said here yee here yee I will be a category 3. Well the Castros and the Mimi was going to go back and face this Gustav on the Sunday. Then the Rob said the level of Gustav's Category could possibly hit the 5 on land and was headed straight for the Lafayette! So, me and the Eric went back on the Saturday...stopped at the Texas Smokehouse...then headed to the Lafayette to board up the rest of the windows...met the Mariano...cleaned the kennel...threw things in the pool...boarded the windows/woke up all the neighbors...got the sandbags...picked up the Amy...and headed back exhausted...stopped in the Shreveport for gas and cracker barrel breakfast...then back to the Plano! Then we slept for a few hours...we then drove to the Sam's warehouse and purchased the ottoman. That of which was very large and very square and leather...very nice.
After that we drove to the PF Chang's where the Cameron texted me saying he was stuffing his face at the PF Chang's! We then made the walk around to the cheesecake factory...where we all got the cheesecake...then we walked around and into the borders...I purchased the Einstein book. Then back to the house...for cheesecake fights and arm wrestling...then to the sleep.
Monday was all about swimming but first leftover lamb for breakfast for the Ali...Everyone else all with the cereal. Then we went to the Outlet Mall...got the cinnamon rolls...and the mustaches...then back home for the Eric to do the cooking...ate the shrimp etoufee...and the fried fish..then the Castros went to the pool...Everyone else to the TV...then to the sleep...Tuesday morning the family packed and hit the road to the Lafayette...Then Jenny and I went to the Target and got the Cameron's birfday gift. Everyone made it home fine and had no damage and had the electricity!
Wednesday back to the work...and the Herd made it to the Russia!
Thursday was the blur...
and tomorrow is THE FRIDAY!!!!!
